Poetic Interpretations

Lyricists write lyrics with aesthetic and sublime connotations. But listening to the same songs while driving on the pothole ridden roads of Bangalore have led to many alternative interpretations in my mind. An example follows:

Why I don't burst LOUD crackers

When I was a kid I was very innocent and I used to tell the truth. I told everybody that the reason I don't burst loud crackers is because I am afraid of them. Now I just tell everybody that I am an environmentalist

Time Management

I had to give 3 seminars in one week. To manage things, I used almost the same set of slides for all of them. I even wore the same set of clothes to 2 of them

At stake

Bets worth Rs 150 crore were placed on the birth of Aishwarya's kid. Bets worth Rs 200 crore were placed on Sachin's hundredth century. I wonder how much people are willing to bet on me getting my PhD

Research Progress

When I joined PhD, I thought I will do something original. Unable to do that, I started making an attempt to modify or improve something that has already been done. After some time, I downgraded to trying to reproduce the reported results. Finally, unable to do that also, for the last 2 days, I have been sending emails to the authors of papers asking them how they got their results. I wonder what the next phase is
